The Spartan Fund is De Smet Jesuit’s annual giving program and our most important source of support beyond tuition. It helps bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the true cost of educating every student, ensuring that we can continue to offer an exceptional Catholic, Jesuit education that forms men for others.

Each November, our Month of Giving celebrates the generosity of our community and the impact of the Spartan Fund. The tuition gap is the difference between what De Smet Jesuit charges for tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. Like most private schools, we intentionally set tuition below cost to keep a De Smet education accessible to more families.

The Spartan Fund helps bridge this gap—covering critical expenses like teacher salaries, academic programs, student support services, and campus maintenance. Every student benefits from the Spartan Fund. Without it, tuition would need to rise significantly to sustain the same level of excellence.
