Coach: Bryan Traughber ‘97, De Smet Jesuit Varsity Cross Country Coach
Beginning week of June 6
We will meet each week (Monday, Wednesday, & Friday) from 7:15 – 9 a.m. in front of the Lacrosse Wall on the North grass field.
Athletes from all sports backgrounds are welcome – we have an “endurance group” for athletes involved in sports such as cross country and soccer as well as a “speed group” for sports like football, lacrosse, hockey etc. We also complete a general “body weight” strength training exercise routine each day. This camp will surely benefit all types of athletes. We hope you can join us!
Freshman are welcome to attend as often as possible.
Cost: $75.00 for any or all of the weeks. (This is a one-time fee regardless of the number of weeks you plan to attend)
Camp fee includes camp t-shirts, nutritional snacks, and drinks each day.
This camp is for any student who will be a freshman at De Smet Jesuit and who would like to improve his overall fitness level to prepare for the upcoming fall sports season. While those who plan to run cross country are strongly encouraged to attend this camp, it is not limited to cross country runners and requires no prior running experience. The cross country staff at De Smet Jesuit High School plans to help our athletes develop endurance, strength, flexibility, and a strong work ethic that will help them improve as an athlete. Camp participants will learn a proper warm-up and stretching routine, complete a running workout, be introduced to a strength and core training routine, and will end each day with a cool-down followed by a nutritious snack and refreshments. On the last day of camp all athletes will be given a summer training plan to encourage them to use the information and techniques discussed at the camp.
Please wear running shoes and comfortable clothing. Bring a water bottle for breaks.
