Fine Arts Week begins with senior-directed One Act Plays on Thursday, April 29, when seniors take on the roles of directors for this final show of their high school careers and direct talented underclassmen in a set of five short plays. This year’s senior directors are Ryan Hughes, Henry Right, Justin Kennedy, Brady Burke, and Jacob Sasfai. The show runs one hour in length with no intermission. Because of pandemic-related seating restrictions, attendance will be limited by a nightly cap for the April 29 show and the second performance on Saturday, May 1. Limited tickets are available by contacting Mr. Sextro at rsextro@desmet.org.
The Annual Art Show opens for the community on Sunday, May 2, from 12 noon – 3 p.m. on the second floor of De Smet Jesuit. The art show features artworks from all grade levels as well as selected artworks from all four years by current seniors. This year's show takes on a creative twist with interactive opportunities for participants to discover. See photos and read more at "Interactive Art Show Invites Connection Via QR Codes."
Musicians take the stage on Monday, May 3, when students in Concert Band, Jazz Lab, Instrumental Jazz Combo, and the Honors Jazz Combo perform for live and virtual audiences in the instrumental concert that will be livestreamed on DSN beginning at 7 p.m.
