Casey Ott '03 Appointed Varsity Hockey Head Coach

The De Smet Jesuit Hockey Board and Office of Administration have announced Casey Ott as the next Varsity Head Coach for the De Smet Jesuit Hockey hockey program.

Coach Ott is a 2003 graduate of De Smet Jesuit High School and a hockey alumnus and who brings extensive coaching experience from both the high school and club levels.    

Highlights from his career include:

  • De Smet Jesuit Assistant Coach for the past 7 years where he assisted with all duties, including weekly practice strategies, game plan implementation, video work, pre-scouting, and player development
  • 3 State Championship Finals 
  • 4 Frozen Fours
  • 1 Quarterfinal
  • 1 Municipal Conference Championship
  • St. Louis AAA Blues Tier 1 Hockey – 5 seasons seasons as Assistant Coach
  • St. Louis AAA Blues Tier 1 Hockey – Director of Boys Division – Pee Wee / Bantam
  • Synergy Hockey – On-ice instructor, skill, and skating development

Coach Ott’s plan is to build upon the success, structure, and storied tradition of the De Smet Jesuit hockey program.  His goals are to continue to drive success on the ice, while adhering to the De Smet Jesuit mission and core values. He will strive to develop student athletes into men for others both on and off the ice and within our communities. 

He shares the following:

“Throughout my coaching career, all roads led back to De Smet hockey—a sport and a school that have given me so much in my life and have has created so many great memories. It gives me great excitement to think about the possibilities, and I can’t wait to get started with players, the staff, and the De Smet hockey community.”
