De Smet African American Parents Council

Our mission is to provide a community for and enrich the overall experience of African American students and their families at De Smet, as well as to promote a greater understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion at De Smet.

This is accomplished by working in conjunction with administrators to acclimate, inform, and support African American families at De Smet. The De Smet African American Parents Council (DAAP) will host a variety of events and will also invite guest speakers to monthly DAAP meetings to share information throughout the academic year.

All African American families are automatically enrolled as members of DAAP and are encouraged to participate. To get involved or for more information, contact daap@desmet.org.
