Frequently Asked Questions

How do I download the app?

Search for De Smet Jesuit MySparta in the App Store or Google Play. Once you have installed the app, you'll be prompted to allow the app to access your location and send you notifications. Go to the side menu on the app by either swiping to the right or clicking on the menu button on the bottom left of the app (looks like 3 bars) in order to login to the app to get access for special features for your group.

How do I log in?

Students, you can log in using your last name and your password is your Student ID number.

Parents can login using their last name and your password has been emailed to the email address the school has on file for you. If you don't have an email on file with the school or did not receive a password, email webmaster@desmet.org to register your email and get a password for access to the app.

How do the Calendars work?

There are multiple calendar available on the app for you to follow. When you click on Calendars or Athletic Calendars, you can click on Settings to see the different calendars that are available. Any calendar you want appearing on your app, just click on the check mark next to it to subscribe to it. If you click on the bell next to the calendar, you can set reminders for the events that you subscribe to. Under the Athletic Calendars, you can choose which athletic team's schedule you want appearing on your app. Each season, the schedules for all the teams will be added to the app.

What if I don't see the option on the main screen?

The main screen of the app is limited in the number of choices so there are many more options on the side menu. To access the side menu, simply swipe the screen to the right or click on the menu button on the bottom left of the app (looks like 3 bars stacked on top of each other).

How does my Student ID work on the app?

Students will have access to their Student ID on the app. The ID will have their regular information including Homeroom and House. The ID will also have their activities pass marked on it which is achieved based on how many Big Draw tickets they sell. The Student ID will also have their student barcode on it that can be used in the Library and Cafeteria, just like their regular Student ID.

How do I update my information on the app?

You update your contact information by clicking on the Update Info tab and that information will be shared with the school to update our records.

Why should I allow the app to access my location or send notifications?

Allowing the app to access your location and send you notifications opens up special opportunities and opens new lines of communicating information.

Location - if your location is turned on, you will be able to receive special notifications or deals from De Smet Jesuit based on your location, such as reminders about big events in your area or special discounts/opportunities at different De Smet Jesuit events.

Notifications - if you allow notifications, De Smet Jesuit will be able to send you notifications about events in the De Smet Jesuit Community or changes to the schedule such as Snow Days or special schedules.
