As parents, we love having our sons at De Smet Jesuit because it means they are getting an unparalleled Jesuit education, one that will prepare them for success in pursuing their dreams. Our family of five—several graduating from local Jesuit institutions—lives the motto of being men and women for and with others. Every day I leave De Smet exhausted, and my hope is that anyone who sees me in those moments doesn't see the exhaustion, but the passion to be better the next day. I see it in my students, my athletes, and my colleagues every day, and it drives me to be better.

At our best, we put students in a place where they can throw caution to the wind, take a chance, and learn; whether that be how to use the quadratic formula or be a man of faith and love. That's what excites me. There is no ‘good enough’ because it never is; not to our standards. 

As a senior, I already know that De Smet Jesuit has changed my life. All that I’ve done, everything that has defined the past three years of my life — my friends, teachers, and activities — are made possible because of the generosity of our community. At De Smet Jesuit, I know there are people who care about me, about what I do, what I think, and what is important to me. During my junior year, I got involved with the De Smet Student Network (DSN) calling games and finding my voice. This opportunity alone has opened doors for me and allowed me to grow as a person. I am now considering a career in broadcasting. I am forever grateful.
