Maroon Madness 2018
Congrats to the Class of 1982 for winning the second-annual Maroon Madness Tournament! They increased their overall class giving from 17% to a fantastic 31%! With their victory, they will receive a private tailgate party at De Smet Jesuit.
The race for first this year was VERY close! Congrats as well to the classes of 1971 (29.4%) and 1977 (29.2%). Both classes battled hard all week to try and finish on top. Kudos to the other classes who made significant strides as well: 2006, 1976, 1983, and 1992.
A De Smet Jesuit Alumni competition to find out which class is the truly best in “team” giving. Coinciding with the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, classes will square up against one another to determine which one can reach the highest overall class giving percentage.
Monday, March 19 through Friday, March 23.
All new gifts made between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on March 22 will count as DOUBLE towards the overall class giving percentage!
1. The ultimate goal is to raise each class’ overall giving percentages in this fiscal year (July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018). New gifts to your class (those made by individuals who have not yet made a gift in this fiscal year) will count towards increasing your class' overall participation percentage. If you have already made a gift, you may still make another to help your class’ overall dollar amount—which will be used to break a tie.
- 2. NO PLEDGES! Minimum gift amount is $10, and your gift will only count once in helping your class participation giving percentage (in other words, you cannot make multiple small gifts each round to help boost your percentage total). Multiple gifts are welcome to be made to help increase a class’ total giving.
- 3. Gifts can only be made either online or through Venmo (search for “De Smet Jesuit”) within the appropriate round date range.
- 4. The winner will be announced on March 26. The winning class will receive a private tailgate party during the 2018-19 school year.
