Maroon Madness Shifts to Maroon Kindness
One of Spartan Country’s greatest strengths is its resilience. Especially during challenging circumstances, we are called to live out our school’s mission and be men for and with others. Given the impact COVID-19 is having on both the entire world and our own community, this is clearly one of those times.
In light of this ongoing situation, adjustments are being made to our “Maroon Madness” giving competition. The campaign’s focus will shift to assist Spartans and their families that are being directly impacted by this global pandemic. Effective today, Maroon Madness is now "Maroon Kindness"—a fundraising effort that will benefit students and their families who are in need of extra support. All proceeds will help cover breakfasts and lunches for those in need.
The average cost per meal is approximately $5 per person. As within past Maroon Madness tournaments, you are encouraged to contribute a minimum of $10. The giving competition will continue in the coming weeks as campus remains closed, with the end date to be announced at a future time.
The class with the highest giving percentage will still be rewarded with a trophy in the Emerson Lobby and a brick paver near the Alumni Pavilion in the Pierre LaBarge Stadium. There will no longer be a drawing or individual prize.
To make your gift and directly impact Spartans in need during this pandemic, please fill out the form below. You can also give on Venmo to @DeSmetJesuit (please include your name, class year, and "Maroon Kindness").
On behalf of these young men and their families, thank you for your support of Maroon Kindness!
