Exposure Guidelines for Returning to School

De Smet Jesuit is following the recommendations of the CDC and St. Louis County Health Department for students to return to school.

If your student tests positive, he may return after a letter of release is received from local health department or primary care physician.

If your student has an exposure to someone currently being tested or is experiencing symptoms, he may return to school after a negative test is received after the exposure or a letter of clearance from a primary care physician.

If your student has an exposure to a positive case, he may return after completing a full quarantine from the date of exposure.

Anyone with contact to a student who is currently displaying symptoms and testing will need to remain on remote learning until a negative result or clearance from primary care physician is received.

Students experiencing one, low-risk symptom will be allowed to return to school after 24 hours of symptom resolution.

Students experiencing two or more symptoms or experiencing one high-risk symptom may return after released from physician or a negative COVID test is received.
