Mass & Liturgies
Mass is celebrated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in our Chapel at 8 a.m. when school is in session. All are welcome to attend.
Adoration and Confession occur on select Fridays in our Chapel; check school calendar in OnCampus for most current schedule.
First Friday Masses
Fathers and sons and alumni are especially invited to monthly First Friday Masses at 8:00 a.m. when school is in session. Coffee reception to follow in chapel meeting room.
Students, faculty, and staff attend all-school Masses several times during the school year on holy days of obligation and other special occasions such as the Mass of the Holy Spirit, a Jesuit tradition to begin a new school year, and the Missioning Mass that commissions juniors to their year-long service projects. The turf and the gymnasium are transformed into places of prayer for the all-school Masses.
On days when an all-school Mass is scheduled (see calendar below), there is no daily Mass at 8 a.m. Parents who wish to attend an all-school Mass should check in through the main office.
Students and faculty attend class Masses once each quarter to celebrate the Eucharist as a class. Masses are held in the Boian Chapel during the first class period of the day.
If you are interested in being involved in planning a liturgy, serving, or helping with music, please contact Director of Campus Ministry Kelsey Grimm at email@example.com
Several prayer groups are offered at De Smet Jesuit. Some meet weekly, while other are for a more defined period of time like Advent & Lent. Please see descriptions below or go to the Campus Ministry Center for more information.
