The inclusive education program is a powerful extension of De Smet’s Catholic, Jesuit mission—fostering a school community where every young man belongs, grows, and thrives.

Grounded in our Ignatian tradition, we embrace the diversity of each student’s gifts and provide an environment that supports academic excellence, faith formation, and personal growth.

Through intentional inclusion, peer connection, and a shared commitment to being Men for Others, we prepare students to lead with empathy, serve with purpose, and make a difference in the world. This mission is woven into all we do—from our faith and service opportunities, to our robust student support services, to an admissions process that welcomes students from across the St. Louis region and beyond.

"In this way, we will be able to be credible when we proclaim that the Lord loves everyone, that he is salvation for everyone and invites everyone to the table of life, no one exclude."

Peer Mentorship

Our Peer Mentor Program is an integral part of both the Inclusive Education Program & the entire student body.

  • Selected juniors and seniors enroll in a mentorship course that will provide an unparalleled experiential learning opportunity.

  • Peer mentors are with our inclusive education program students in every one of their eight classes and during lunch to not only provide academic guidance and support but also to encourage positive social interactions with their De Smet brothers.

  • A monthly social club will empower peer mentors to invite fellow students to join in on some food and fun.
