About the Program
HISTORY
As a founding member of Mid-States High School Hockey beginning with the 1971-72 season, De Smet Jesuit takes great pride in our long tradition of hockey excellence. The 2018-19 season marked our 48th year and ended with an appearance in the Mid-States Challenge Cup Championship Game. De Smet Jesuit has won 14 state championships, including the inaugural Mid-States event, taken second 9 times, and finished in the final four 33 times.
Championships have been won in 1972, 1976, 1978, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2010.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission is to offer a competitive and rewarding hockey experience where players develop individually and work together as a team, while growing as leaders and respected young men on and off the ice. (In keeping with the principles of De Smet Jesuit High School)

EXPECTATIONS
The team and players represent De Smet Jesuit High School at all times. "Men for Others" should remain the overriding credo as it relates to interpersonal relationships and a sense of fair play.
Team and program unity are of paramount importance. Appropriate behavior and conduct are learned, practiced, and continually evaluated.
