Academic Teams

Intellectual prowess and committed teamwork: Spartans compete and collaborate on academic teams.
More than just a club, an academic team such as mock trial, robotics, or scholar bowl demands commitment from each participant and follows specific guidelines from organizations. Students interested in any of our teams should contact our Director of Student Activities.

Robotics

From zero hour to build season to competition, our robotics teams offer students hands-on technical experience (and fun) competing in the FIRST Robotics Challenge and the FIRST Tech Challenge.

Scholar Bowl

Jeopardy! enthusiasts encouraged! Students in Scholar Bowl join teams of four and compete for points scored by correctly answering questions on a variety of subjects, including history, science, mathematics, and pop culture.

Mock Trial

Competing in the courtroom as an attorney...or practicing imrov skills on the character witness stand, students learn trial fundamentals with alumni lawyers and judges.

There’s a lot of critical thinking. They have to collaborate to create a strategy. They have to anticipate and create contingency plans, and in trial they have to think on their feet. Tom Sothers, History teacher, Mock Trial moderator
