Physical Education

Through its curriculum, the physical education department will contribute to the overall social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of each student. The curriculum is designed to promote the principles of the Grad at Grad. The coursework will promote intellectual competence, i.e. game rules, strategies, bio-mechanical functionality, health wellness practices and lifetime activities. Leadership will develop through opportunities in team sport and individual activity through assigned responsibilities such as captain and coach. Loving and commitment to justice will be accomplished through teamwork, sense of fairness and mentoring of novice students. The formation of each student’s openness to growth is implemented through reflection on their experience in both classroom and laboratory. The Ignatian spirituality of living, reflecting, acting on life’s experience is incorporated into all learning situations.
