LIVING OUR MISSION

At De Smet Jesuit High School, our mission to form Men for Others calls us to be bold, faithful, and future-focused. Over the 2022–2023 school year, we worked as a community of educators, students, alumni, parents, and benefactors to discern how God is inviting us to grow. On April 5, 2023, our Board of Trustees unanimously approved four strategic priorities to guide the future of De Smet Jesuit:

Catholic & Jesuit | Academic Excellence | Care for the Whole Person | Men for Others

Together, these priorities form the foundation of our strategic vision—and our ongoing commitment to send graduates into the world who lead, serve, and live for the greater glory of God.

Strategic Priorities

Our strategic priorities serve as the foundation for all we do at De Smet Jesuit. They guide our mission to form young men who are intellectually curious, spiritually grounded, emotionally aware, and committed to serving others. These priorities shape every experience inside and outside the classroom, ensuring that our students are prepared to lead meaningful lives rooted in faith, justice, and purpose.

Catholic & Jesuit

We commit to modeling and teaching the beliefs and practices of our Catholic faith and our Jesuit spiritual tradition in a manner that is meaningful and accessible.

Academic Excellence

We commit to delivering a college prep academic program that enables a wide variety of students to realize their God-given potential.

CARE FOR THE WHOLE PERSON

We commit to forming well-rounded young men by enhancing their development beyond the classroom.

MEN FOR OTHERS

We commit to facilitating the development of students through curricular and co-curricular programs infused with real-world experiences and challenges grounded in the call to grow as men for others.

A VISION IN MOTION

Our priorities are more than words—they’re the lens through which we lead, teach, and serve. From launching new academic initiatives to deepening spiritual formation, we are actively putting our vision into practice.

MIDDLE SCHOOL  RETREAT PROGRAM  FAITH & SERVICE

Let us continue to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and direction as we make this vision a reality. We can move forward with confidence that the Lord who inspired these holy desires will bring them to fulfillment.
