De Smet Jesuit high School invites applications for the position of Classroom Teacher – Accounting and Business. This position is responsible for teaching basic accounting skills and practices, including concepts of the accounting cycle and financial statements; introducing the business world, including the principles of marketing, finance, profitability, supply and demand, business management and entrepreneurship; exploring fundamental principles of economics; and developing an understanding of personal finance issues, such as budgeting, investing, and retirement planning. Learning is enhanced through real life examples.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or related area and at least two years’ secondary or post-secondary teaching experience. Candidates with experience in accounting or business management or an MBA in a business related area will be preferred.
All teachers at De Smet Jesuit provide college preparatory level instruction to young men in a Catholic, Jesuit environment with an emphasis on cura personalis. De Smet Jesuit classroom teachers collaborate to build a supportive, dynamic, and interesting program that engages young men.
