Where do I go if my computer is having trouble?
For most hardware and software problems you can stop by room 208. This is a drop-off center and you may need to leave you computer there for 1 or more periods depending on the nature of the problem. It is important to fill out the form correctly and be nice and respectful of the IT Staff. You can also check with one of your computer teachers during activity period if the problem is minor or it is a question of "How to".
Why do I have two usernames and passwords for my computer?
The first username and password is the one you will use 99% of the time. It is the one you will always use while at school. The second "DSadmin" account is the account used to install certain software or add additional hardware such as a printer to your computer. It should be used only for those purposes.
If I lose my stylus what can I do?
Our bookstore "The Depot" carries a replacement stylus for close to $42.00 (less than the online price from HP) Most students will be required to have a functioning stylus! So... Be careful. It is also a good idea to label your stylus.
What if my stylus stops working but it is not physically broken?
The Stylus comes with a one year warranty. So if it stops working but is not physically damaged it will be replaced by HP within the first year of use.
What if my stylus breaks?
The stylus is not covered by the same accidental damage policy as the rest of the computer. If it Breaks it will need to be replaced at the student's expense.
The strap on my backpack broke, am I just out of luck?
The good news is the backpack has a 1 year warranty. If you have serious problems with the backpack stop by room 208 and they can arrange for a replacement. Be sure to completely empty the backpack before you turn it in for exchange! For the class of 2013 the back packs have a lifetime warranty.
Can I install games on my computer?
You can install games on your computer as long as no files are being stored in My Documents and it does not interfere with any school related application.

Can I store Music on my computer?
Yes. However, it is critical that the music not be stored in My Documents. It is also very important that all music is legally acquired!
What other software can I install on the Tablet PC?
Since you own the computer you can install any software that is legally purchased. However, if the software interferes with the ability to do schoolwork we will ask that it be uninstalled. It is recommended to limit additional software that could be distracting or hog system resources.
Can I Install Peer-to-Peer software such as Napster, Limewire, BearShare, Morpheous, Gnutella, or other similar types of software?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
