Be a Spartan. Be a Leader!
Attention current and future leaders! The Spartan Leadership Institute is a week-long camp that gives you practice in the methods and perspectives of leadership, aiming to make you a better leader in any of the roles you have or choose to play in your grade school or when you enter De Smet Jesuit High School. First, we develop a basic working definition of leadership. As the week continues, we watch movie clips that reveal leaders and their qualities, identify historical and biblical leaders, talk about the standard bearer, care for others, and being a man for others. We develop our own leadership platforms, talk about our circles of excellence, and make decisions. As the week continues, we hear from student leaders at De Smet Jesuit and make a commitment to participate in a leadership project that impacts the community. When the week is finished, together we will have a met a bunch of new friends from across the area and defined our leadership strengths and challenges. We will keep in touch throughout the coming year through an online leadership blog. Be a Spartan. Be a Leader. Come join the Spartan Leadership Institute!
