We are pleased to announce that De Smet Jesuit has been designated as an A+ high school by the Missouri State Board of Education.

We are pleased to announce that De Smet Jesuit has been designated as an A+ high school by the Missouri State Board of Education. This program was created in 1993 as an incentive to improve Missouri high schools, help decrease dropout rates, and ensure all students graduate college and career ready. With the passage of Senate Bill 638 in the fall of 2016, all high schools not previously A+ designated were given the opportunity to apply for this program.

This designation means that graduating seniors may now be eligible for the services this program provides if they have met all the requirements of the A+ program. These requirements include minimum GPA and attendance records, minimum service hour requirements through mentoring, and a record of good citizenship throughout high school. The services provided for these students include free or reduced tuition fees at community colleges and technical colleges. In addition, many four-year colleges and universities in the state of Missouri offer scholarships for students who have graduated from an A+ designated school and who meet the requirements of this program.
