De Smet High School Alumni
Alumni Association Spartan Trivia Night is Feb. 24
It's trivia time at De Smet Jesuit on Friday, February 24! Join the De Smet Jesuit Alumni Association at Spartan Trivia Night, an evening of general trivia to benefit De Smet Jesuit High School.
Doors open at 6:30, with the first round of trivia beginning at 7:15 p.m. Get a table of friends and/or neighbors together for a fun-filled evening. Beer, soda, water and popcorn will be provided, but feel free to bring outside snacks, appetizers and other drinks. Cash prizes awarded for the first and second-place teams, with a special prize for the last-place team. Mulligans will be available for purchase (2 per table), as well as tickets for 50/50, heads/tails and raffles at the event.

Alumni Retreat Planned for Aug. 30 - Sept. 2, 2012
As the summer ends in 2012, imagine taking a break from your house projects, hectic family vacations, and grueling work schedule for a weekend to yourself. Picture yourself spending three days with fellow De Smet Jesuit alumni on acres of trees, nature trails and open meadows all situated on bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Close your eyes and listen to the barge traffic as it travels the river. Listen to the sounds of the trains as they travel along the bottom of the bluffs. Watch the sunrise over the Mississippi River and Illinois farmlands. Listen to and watch the birds and wildlife.
If that is not enough, add a quiet reflective weekend where you can get away from it all. No bingo, games, phones, politics, work, kids, emails, etc.... Will you join us in late August?
We are honored to have Fr. Mike Garanzini, S.J., scheduled to be the director for our 2011 weekend retreat. Please mark your calendar for Thursday August 30, through Sunday afternoon, September 2. Alumni Friday Morning Prayer
The Alumni Association invites all alumni to return to De Smet Jesuit on Friday mornings when school is in session to read the Friday Morning Prayer and to offer a short reflection on what it means to be a De Smet Jesuit Graduate. Contact the Alumni Office for more information.

Alumni Board Seeks Class Representatives
The Alumni Association is currenlty looking for volunteers to serve as Class Reps for the following classes: 1982, 1993 and 1994. For more information or to volunteer, please contact the Alumni Board President, Mark Lauberth '77 or Vice-President, Andy Riesmeyer '83.
Duties of a De Smet Jesuit High School Alumni Board Class Representative:
- Lives the "Men for Others" Jesuit motto and "Grad at Grad" principles.
- Acts as a conduit between De Smet Jesuit Alumni Association and his class.
- Promotes De Smet Jesuit in his parish and community in a positive manner.
- Attends Alumni Board meetings representing his respective class.
- Assists with events hosted or sponsored by the Alumni Association including the Odyssey Auction, Reunion Weekend, Business After Hours, Christmas Tree Lot, Spartan Trivia Night, Palm Sunday Alumni Family Easter Egg Hunt, Tradition Golf Tournament and Alumni Annual Appeal Phone-a-thons.
- Offers support for all De Smet Jesuit fund raising endeavors through time, treasure and talents.
- Serves as a member of the Reunion Committee for his respective class in a reunion year.
The Alumni Association's goal is to have at least three reps for each class. Please complete and return the Willingness to Serve form if you you like to join the Alumni Board to represent your class.
