In 2011-2012, Kevin Fober enters his ninth year as Athletic Director at De Smet Jesuit High School and 17th year at the school. In those years the Spartans have won 11 state championships and numerous MCC and MSHSAA District championships. He is a member of the Missouri Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association as well as the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
Kevin coached swimming at De Smet Jesuit for 13 years, where his 2002 team won the Missouri State Championship. In 2001, he was named Missouri Swimming Coach of the Year and his team finished second. Kevin's teams won four MCC championships and his swimmers amassed a total of 36 individual and 13 relay conference championships. He also re-launched the water polo program and coached the team for eight years where the Spartan's highest state finish was fourth in 1998.
Prior to De Smet, Fober was Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach at the University of Chicago. In his 10-year tenure he had several NCAA national qualifiers, one NCAA Champion and one NCAA runner-up. He served on the board of the College Swimming Coaches Association and attained an American Swimming Coaches Association Level 3 certification.
Kevin is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was a four-year letterwinner in swimming and a 1981 Big Ten Conference champion in the 200-yard butterfly. He also holds a master of arts in political science from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He resides in Creve Coeur and is married to Tracy, his wife of 17 years.
In addition to his duties as Athletic Director, Kevin teaches Spanish and serves as a Kairos retreat director.
