An Air Conditioned Gym is just a few clicks away from reality! The "Fund-A-Need" at the 2010 Odyssey Auction was to start a fund with the proceeds going to air condition the De Smet Jesuit gymnasium. That night, a little over $52,000 was raised and our journey toward making our gym air conditioned began. After the auction, it was estimated that the project would cost around $250,000. Recently, the Alberici Foundation, through the generosity of John and Natalie Alberici, issued a challenge gift of $100,000. The gift challenges the rest of the De Smet Community to make this project a reality by raising the other $100,000 needed. Please join the De Smet alumni, current parents, alumni parents and friends of De Smet who have already contributed to this project. Together we can make this happen---because WE ARE DE SMET!! UPDATE:November 19, 2011: At the Annual Odyssey Auction, "Soiree A Paris", John Stiles, De Smet's VP of Institutional Advancement, announced that the $100,000 goal for the Alberici Foundation matching gift had been reached. Request for bids for the gym air conditioning project will soon be issued. Thank you to all who supported this project!!
